ABOUT ME

Qualified film maker

My name is Connor Winfield and this is my website showcasing the films that I made and helped make during my time at university studying Television Production at the University for the Creative Arts.

Despite not making too many films since leaving, I have still kept the passion of media and believe that a position in creating various media is a good fit for me.  I still remember a lot of the skills that I learned during my three year course, in directing techniques as well as usage of equipment ( Panasonic cameras, boom mics etc. ) and the many tools of the editing software, Premiere pPo being my preferred choice of programme.

My favourite piece that I have made is also my third year final project, titled ‘The Lunch Club’. There are several reasons as to why this is my favourite film that I have made, the top one being that I was making it as a tribute to my nan who passed away. Also, this project was almost entirely done by myself , including the camera work, editing and sound design. I had some help with a couple of interviews and that is it, so this film feels more like my creation than others that I’ve made.

Throughout my time at university, There were times that I was the director and producer of a shoot, such as the projects that we had to plan ourselves, or have been in other important positions. One example of this was when my year group were helping the second years with their Live Studio show and we were given various roles, mine being Head Runner. This meant that I had to help co-ordinate the other runners and make sure that they were comfortable in their positions. With my own year group when it was time for our Live Studio production, my task was Promotions researcher, a solo task for the whole project. For this role I was in charge of researching the topics that the producers wanted to put onto both the production's website and social media profiles, which I very much enjoyed.
